Add-A-Pearl Finds a Treasure in Online Sweepstakes

As part of their fall 2015 marketing campaign Add-A-Pearl decided to run a Facebook Timeline Sweepstakes to build brand awareness, grow their Facebook following, reach more customers and generate some buzz.

Every successful sweepstakes needs a great prize and Add-A-Pearl had the perfect option right at their fingertips. They put together a generous prize package containing a pearl necklace, a pair of pearl earrings and a keepsake box. Throughout the contest participants were delighted with the prize and their excitement was evident as they tagged friends and family to join the sweepstakes.

The Plan

Add-A-Pearl had an existing Facebook page so we chose to host the sweepstakes there. It began with a simple post announcing the sweepstakes using a graphic that told the story of the incredible prize package.

One of the advantages of running a Facebook Timeline Sweepstakes is that it’s so easy to enter. All the audience had to do was like the post and they were entered into the sweepstakes. We used one of Facebook’s paid marketing tools (a boosted post) to get the word out to a broader audience and used  Facebook Notes to house the sweepstakes rules and legal disclaimer.

The Results

The sweepstakes ran for two weeks and the numbers surpassed Add-A-Pearl’s expectations:
